Excellence Triangle: Baseline & Fundamentals
Excellence is often referred to an extraordinary act of precision, abundance and value delivery. It is quite usual to see the excellence uncommon in most areas of our life.
Look at our world today, statistically, all essentials of life are not distributed normally. Is the wealth of the world is equally distributed among the 90 percent of the population or may be less than 10 percent of the population contain 90 percent of the world’s wealth? Not only for wealth but similar is considerations can be concluded for education, power, health and so on…
What those less than 10 percent have? Which is missing for most of the world, if you look around its not some supernatural effect, God gifted power, racial supremacy or the League of extraordinary beings but it’s “The Excellence’’.
One can argue against the richness of someone’s father, the son of the King will be the king, the special health support any developed country is providing and under developing not. But can one ensure that the world best health service will keep you fit, you will maintain and multiply the wealth if your father is multi-millionaire and will you remain king if your father was ? Is it not depend on how one act toward each sector of life ? The key is that those who do understands the basics of “Excellence” they transfer it to its next kin and those who do not take it on, lose a lot.
If you google the word excellence you will get “the quality of being outstanding” or “the outstanding feature”, it felt more like the wish in someone’s heart rather the distinct supremacy. The excellence is often considered reserved for few special, referred as the hard or impossible to achieve. It is not the case that the people put all their efforts and not achieving it.
Firstly, numerous people not able to attain the excellence because they never try to achieve it. Secondly, the individuals do some efforts have a vast majority of people who didn’t put efforts in right direction and eventually not reached the level they were expecting to achieve. Hence the victim is “The Excellence”. Reserved for special individual having extra mile capabilities.
But I have an objection against this mind-set, this philosophy might me working well till previous century. In the last two decades the revolution we see around us proves that the impossible is something what we believe is impossible, elsewise everything is possible.
The excellence is a journey that will never end, the first step starts from you. It can be anything from a workout target, a new business, weight loss, a new YouTube channel, from art of public speaking to a multimillion cooperate transformation, improving your productivity or reducing waste in each process.
Everyone wants to be successful but without putting right effort on the right place at right moment. This will not accelerate the outcomes. Considered this with a simple example, a simple hinged door can be opened with few fingers force. On the other hand, try to open the same door by applying all the force in our body at hinge or pivot point. If the force is huge it might break the hinge, but this will not open the door for you, not even an inch.
The first thing you need to do today is to take a step for whatever endeavor in your mind, whatever you want to achieve. You are an individual or a cooperation. Think big, the key to excellence is your thirst for it and the way one pursuit it.
The excellence is governed by three core factors:
1. Leadership || 2. People || 3. System
LEADERSHIP defines your rules of engagement. In cooperate world the line of command (leadership) is very well defined. In case of individual s/he can be the leader for them self, it can be all the stakeholders involved in your journey. The leader in your journey can be considered as a person whose yes or no matters. It could be your siblings, your spouse or a childhood friend or any government organization, internal departments of the company so and so forth.
PEOPLE are the most important players of this game. The leadership do engage them at first but if the people do not believe in what they are doing. The journey will start of course because of the leadership drive but will collapse as soon as drive diminished. The believe of the PEOPLE act as the fuel of the process and keep them involved.
Lastly, the SYSTEM itself. There are tons of system available in market for almost every aspect of life. Its weight lose program or how to become famous YouTuber, its LEAN management systems or any Continuous improvement program in cooperate world. The market is full of systems. Each system somehow worked somewhere, important is which system drive value for you. Its all about value delivery when it comes to “SYSTEM”.;
Since you have reached to this point, you already know about the baseline and how excellence fundamentally works. The excellence triangle works with its connected core.
